About Me

“I walk beside clients into their dark shadows, I stay with them, and support them as we explore together.” Amanda

What i can offer you

Thinking about getting some counselling can feel like a confusing and daunting task, with so many types of therapy and people who offer it.

I know this, because I remember looking for my own counsellor years ago and wanting to ask lots of questions. It felt important to find someone I could trust and feel comfortable with, so I could just be myself.

My hope is for you to get the most out of your counselling sessions that you can. Therapy is an investment in yourself, and when you are ready to make that commitment, I will be there to support you, because I believe you deserve to feel better.

Therapy Sessions

Through conversations, I will facilitate you in discovering more about what is going on for you. I might ask open questions to help you focus in on something that feels confusing. We will work together and be curious about how your life is and what it feels like to be you, using different techniques to access confusing and distressing emotions.

I can offer techniques or strategies for coping and managing every day, alongside psycho-education to help bring a new level of awareness and understanding about yourself.

Neuro-affirming Sessions

We can explore what it feels like to be in your world, and how things may feel challenging every day, which can often leave you feeling exhausted. We can find out what you need and discover more about how and why being on the spectrum can feel and is, so isolating at times.

I also offer a safe and quiet space where you can share the difficult memories you may be holding onto, and carefully support you as we safely unpack things you feel you want to get out, talk about and understand more.

What Therapy is not

The therapy I offer is not CBT or a quick fix. You are not expected to be or do things in a certain way. You will not be asked to talk about anything you do not want to or do not feel ready to talk about.
